The White Girl Manifesto - Track One Complete

Now i won't release what I've recorded yet but I am really proud to say that I just finished the first track off the mixtape. I really wanted to lay the pavement for this song and let everyone know what I'm about. The mixtape is going to be named 404's & Bathroom Floors, for two reasons. The first - being my SP-404, i love that fucking machine. (For those that don't know, its a little sampler, simular to kanye's 808 but not a drum machine). And second, an ode to Atmosphere. Atmosphere was the first hip-hop i ever truly heard. I mean you can listen to shit all day, but when i was 9 years old and i stole my sister's CD's - i truly heard Slug. Modern Man's Hustle changed my life forever, and for that i thank slug and the whole crew. God's Bathroom Floor is truly a beautiful song and Ant made a masterpiece of a beat.

I really wanted the first track to be about what i'm about - where i'm from, who i am, and i wanted to clearly state what i'm not trying to be. Life is all about perception. In this perception you can create anything, be anything, do anything that you want. My perception of myself and the stuff that flies around in my head is that of a crazy 12 year old on hallucogenics - but that's what i truly believe. I mean you might think I am just who I am at the surface. And that's all good. Just know that my craft is about my perception.

So this beat is just straight up from God's Bathroom Floor, it's so beautiful i didn't want to do anything to compromise it.

Manifesto - this is what we wanna see happen.....

I know you're a travellin man

Recent events just really make me feel this DJ Honda/Mos Def song, like really feel it. I know I've posteed it a lot before, But i recently have been jamming to the instrumental and throwing verses on top of that. All the covers of it have really got me going.

I think a woman's version needs to be done. Yknow how i mean? But I would make it about how, if you can just up and leave- how are you going to expect me to stand still. I know you don't even expect that. So why make someone in your life a priority when to them, you're just an option.

Forget em.

Let the rhythm hit em.

I know you're a travellin man -
Movin through places, space and time
Gotta lot things you got to do
But god knows I aint gonna wait for you - baby boo.

Oooo We Love You Rakeem

I Love Rza. Such a musical genius. This is just a kinda cheesy track i love by him. If i could trade places with anyone for a day - it would be the Rza. He introduces theory and meaning to hip-hop. I love that.

He worked with The Black Keys as well on one of my favourite albums of all time Blakroc. The webisodes are fucking awesome.

We was like Mork and Mindy
Yah we was like Mork and Mindy
Yah nigga i told her i was from space and this girl belie' me
I told her I was a clone and there was probably three of me
We all at the movies
She cudda swore she saw me.

Ghostface

Ghostface Killah - Whip You With A Strap

This song progressively kept getting awesome.
1. The beat pulled at my heartstrings
2. Dilla produced it
3. The first line ghostface said "snotty nose", probably my favourite lines used in hiphop (DOOM, Earl, etc.)

You know you've succeeded as a producer when you can evoke emotion just with your beats. I had to sit back for two seconds and actually let it sink in. So amazing.

Ghostface is in Vancouver on Wednesday and i couldn't be more fucking pumped.

Earl/Madvillan

I love this take on Madvillan's "All Caps", Earl redid this and called it "Deerskin". He has the zaniest flow! He wrote this when he was FOURTEEN. Jesus.

Get more ass than potty holes - had these naughty flows ever since I was a snotty nose..

Here's the instrumental - it's also so good.
